ENGINE MOUNTINGS

Engine mounts, also known as motor mounts, are devices that connect the engine to the frame of a Mercedes-Benz vehicle. They are designed to support the weight of the engine, while also isolating the engine’s vibrations from the rest of the vehicle.

There are typically three engine mounts on a Mercedes-Benz vehicle: one in the front, one in the middle, and one in the rear. They are made of metal and rubber and are designed to absorb the vibrations and movements of the engine, reducing the amount of noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) that enters the passenger compartment.

These mounts are designed to be durable and withstand the stresses and strains of everyday use, but over time, the rubber component of the mount can wear out and the mount itself can become loose or damaged. When this happens, the engine may move around excessively, causing vibrations and noise to be transmitted through the vehicle, it can also cause damage to other components if left un-repaired.
