MERCEDES-BENZ SBC

SBC stands for Sensotronic Brake Control and is a brake-by-wire system developed by Mercedes-Benz. It is a computer-controlled brake system that uses electronic sensors and actuators to control the braking process, rather than traditional mechanical linkages.

The SBC system is composed of several components, including the brake pedal, brake master cylinder, brake booster, brake calipers, and brake pads. The brake pedal is connected to the brake master cylinder, which in turn sends brake fluid to the brake calipers, where the brake pads press against the brake rotor to slow down or stop the vehicle.

The SBC system uses electronic sensors and actuators to control the brake pressure and to adjust the braking force according to the vehicle’s speed and road conditions. This allows for more precise and responsive braking, as well as improved stability and safety.

The SBC system also includes a number of advanced features, such as brake assist, which provides extra braking force in emergency situations, and brake drying, which helps to improve braking performance in wet conditions.
